Going Buggy Screen Wallpaper

I wanted something bright and fun for my screens this week and a 'going buggy' theme seemed somewhat appropriate. Anyone else feeling the busy?

These big eyed bugs always make me smile!

I'd love to share these screensavers with you too. Simply download the images from google drive from the links below. Store them on your camera roll and choose them for your screen saver and/or wallpaper!

Bunny Rabbit Counting Game

The hungry bunnies will help your little learners learn to count, recognize numbers and counting - with fun math center activity games

This pack includes 4 game variations to learn and practice counting and numbers 1-10.

Help the bunnies find enough carrots - they are very hungry!

The 4 games included in this printable pack are:

Feed a Bunny
Each child in the group selects a bunny card. Tell them to look at the number and feed the bunny the matching number of carrots. Students then count out the appropriate number of carrots and place them on the bunny card. Encourage children to swap cards and have a few turns using different cards and numbers.

Feed all the Bunnies
As a group, feed all the bunnies a matching number of carrots. Place the carrot cards next to each bunny card. Now turn the bunny cards over so that the number is hidden. Encourage a student at a time to identify the bunny’s number by looking at how many carrots he has.

Feed Two Bunnies
Ask each student to feed two bunnies. Match the carrots to each of the bunnies. How many carrots altogether?

Bigger and Smaller
Turn all the bunny cards face down. Ask each child, in turn, to select two bunny cards and turn them over to reveal their number. Ask this student to identify which number is bigger. Now ask each student to pick one bunny card. Ask them to identify the number that comes before and after this number.

Children will have fun as they also learn to count, recognize numbers, represent a number using a set of objects and also compare numbers using sets of objects

I had so much fun drawing these bunnies I wanted to create something else with them. I would love to share a free bunny rabbit coloring page with you today featuring one of the ten little cuties.

Love Check Screen Wallpaper

Although Valentine's Day was last week, I want to keep the love going for one more week. Perhaps it will remind us to teach from the heart and with the heart and look after all those little hearts as much as we can.

Adding a new pretty screen to my home office and phone each week helps me refocus and feel creative.

I'd love to share these screensavers with you too. Simply download the images from google drive from the links below. Store them on your camera roll and choose them for your screen saver and/or wallpaper!

I am off to catch the last few special moments of Sunday with my family!

Place Value Street

Use the pages in this file to create a giant Place Value Street poster featuring houses to learn the place value order of numerals.

I have included pieces to cover ones to hundred-millions. Display the house/s relevant to your grade level. Print and glue the 12 pages into position, first from left to right first and then glue top to bottom.

Cover the poster with clear plastic adhesive or get it laminated. You can write numbers in the windows while it is on display or use place value blocks with it as a learning mat on the floor.

Number cards have been provided to use as an alternative to a dry erase marker.

An 'all on one' page version is included as well as numeral cards 0-9 for placing in the windows.

Pop over to our TpT store if this is something you would like to make for your classroom.

Font Revision

Within my 'Big Bundle of Fonts' you may have noticed a new folder 'revised fonts'. We are taking 2018 to revise as many of our Pond Fonts as we can. I am keeping the same scrappy handwritten style that they were originally created with but giving them a tidy up.

Some of these fonts I created in 2012 on the iPad with a very clumsy stylus - my, how technology progresses fast!

I have spent a little time learning some more profession font software to improve them for you.

If you have the bundle, be sure to keep up with the ongoing improvements. My 'Pond Free' font series will also get a tidy up - the first being this one from 2014 - Pond Free Boss.

If you don't have it yet - head over to TpT to find it now.

Have a wonderful week friends.

Coordinating Printables

I've also added this design, in print quality to the 'Banner and Paper' pack. This pack allows you to coordinate your home office or classroom elements with your screen!

This paper pack includes papers that can be used for the background of classroom posters, powerpoints, folders, books and labels. Decorative pennants for a classroom banner are also included.

I am off to delight in my freshly updated space and squeeze the last minutes of creative time out of my weekend. Have a lovely day sweet friends and a fabulous Valentine's Day this week.

Bee Mine Directed Draw

Sam and I made this bee project this morning over breakfast. True story! We almost cleaned the brush in my coffee a few times instead of the water cup. I drew, he did most of the painting.

Kindergarten has got him all creative, which is lovely to see. This weekend, it has been ALL about painting.

You can make this 'Bee Mine' drawing (or painting) with your sweeties too. Follow the steps we took using these photos, or hop over to TpT where I have added a printable guide to our store.

The steps here are free for you to follow, the printable pack is part of our paid store collection.

  • Start with a nice big piece of paper.
  • Draw a heart.

  • Draw a circle or oval around the heart for the bee's body.

  • Draw heart shaped wings.
  • Eyes on top - and eyeballs!
  • Add a smile, antennae and a stinger.

  • Add some stripes to the bee's body and extra hearts within the wings.

  • More hearts - or your own pattern for the background!

  • And voila, a cute bee for Valentine's Day. Now you can paint, crayon or color and finish off by retracing in black marker.
  • We added oil pastel after the paint dried for extra pop!

Hop over to our TpT store to find the directed drawing instructions in printable formats including writing papers!

Play on the Page this Valentine's Day

Valentines Day No Prep

Add some sweetness to your math learning this February with a 'play on the page' worksheet game style activity!

I have just added 2 new pages to this packet to bring it up to 6 different project designs to choose from. Students can spin or roll and 'add' to color their page.

Valentines Day Math

We have included printable spinners that can be used instead of dice and also, a bonus worksheet to record the number sums made.

Once completed, these pictures will make an attractive classroom display!

Great for Valentine's Day or any other time you need a sweet activity through the year!

Division Fun

Our Doggy Division activity cards will help you make division lessons fun and engaging. Perfect for learners who are ready to recognize, name and use the division symbol and work towards being able to recall division facts.

Your learners should have had plenty of practical experience with sharing and grouping objects. These experiences should have been with small numbers without remainders.

Doggy Division will work with numbers up to 108 and may help students begin to understand that multiplication has an inverse relationship with division.

Use these activity cards as 'Write and Wipe Cards' or as 'task cards' where the students simply record their answers on the worksheet provided.

You will need to laminate these cards before use with a dry-erase marker.

For students requiring just a little support, I have made a Doggy Division number line. You can explain the 'repeated subtraction' strategy to them and ask them to model each division problem with a dry erase marker on the laminated ruler. Count the jumps to find the answer!

This ruler can be used for all sorts of math activities and I would love to share it with you today.

Find it in Google Drive HERE

Have a great day!
